At COVA, the Dinner experience is much better than the Afternoon tea or buffet experience. In a sense I think it will be too harsh to judge them on their High Tea buffet only, although honestly speaking they should improve this area. This particular branch of COVA seems to have a much better menu selection than all other COVA outlets by far. This particular branch of COVA seems to have a much better menu selection than all other COVA outlets by far. It is approaching more higher-end, true Italian fine dining with an over-the-top price tag. Too expensive. Although the meat and pasta dishes here are executed very well. Definitely worth a 4 out of 5.
(All the other COVA's are much worst and probably gets a 2 or 3 out of 5 from me.)
The Afternoon Tea Set meanwhile is a tragic. The sandwiches and canapes, cakes, sweets, etc, are all very ordinary, some even below average. I wouldn't even eat them as a gap filler between meals - its that bad. Coffees aren't that great either for my palate, overly watery and bitter espresso base, and overly frothy milk that resemble a meringue! 1 out of 5.
Overall, 3 out of 5 but in reality, its better than that provided you fork out the money! I didn't think their wine list was that interesting either, felt like a lot of generic/oem wines were blended into the menu somehow with some better known Bordeauxs - but that's Hong Kong! Its all about the profit!
