I have heard about Zoe cake for long time and every time it's closed after dinner.Finally I have got an early leave and have chance to buy a cake for tea!!I have bought a hazelnut cake and a Crème brulee. I have bought a hazelnut cake and a Crème brulee. The hazelnut cake is out of my expectation great. It's not sweet at all, the flavour is very light. It's my first time to taste such special cake. Hazelnut cake is usually quite sweet in other bakery, to my surprised that the cake is not so sweet, the flavour is just enough to recognize it's hazelnut. The taste is so special that could be a signature icon of Zoe.
But the box design is a little a awkward, I have difficulty to take out the cake to eat.
For the creme brulee, the texture is a bit too hard, not creamy and smooth enough; the taste is a bit too sweet especially when eat along the hazelnut cake. But the crunchy layer on top is very good, thin and it's not over burnt (as this sugarcane layer is easily over-burnt in other shop).And there's room for improvement for the packing of the creme brulee.
