Gooday cafe . As the saying goes , Everyday is a new start ,the key to start it pleasantly , it comes to a meal that can cheer you up with positive thinking . To be frank . I think this warm small cafe have such potential. We order two sets for dinner . Here comes the Bread . Bread in pink color ! We order two sets for dinner . Here comes the Bread . Bread in pink color ! I was surprise with novelty I notice it's one of their signature - Homemade roselle loaf . The hint of the rose are not the strong but sweet , match well with the cheese and bread . Cheese melt swiftly in your mouth while the bread is in a brittle crisp layer with its soft content , create a superb nice touch . It was so special !
Homemade Roselle Loaf
The soup is extremely creamy and thick ! The texture is more like cereals or porridge . Extremely milky , blend well with moderate proportion of butter and cream . Add in taro balls to raise its texture and more fibrous . The soup served hot , have a heart-warming start .
Salads , egg and tomoato
Delicate dish in small potion, placed in a wood tray . Quite a special presentation . Boiled egg with squeezed egg yolk mayo smash , form like a flower with its pattern , crab roe sprinkles on top , add a hint of saltiness and surprise . Green salad and sweet tomatoes are fresh . A standard salad with little sesame dressing , a bit dry , but at least a crunchy bites .
Seafood Linguine in Tuna white sauce
The first main course is seafood linguine in tuna white sauce . Presented in a heart shape bowl with some papaya cubes on top , look lovely and adorable . However ,the taste is under average . The seafood is stale , it still tastes like frozen stuff even thought with its rich tuna sauce . The linguine is certainly over cooked . Too soft that lost its nature springy texture . Linguine should be more in an " al dente" texture .
Moreover , lack of sauce even makes the whole dish more dry and tasteless.
Pork jowl baked rice with tomato sauce
The second one is pork jowl baked rice with tomato sauce . This is delicious and favorable . Lemon grass and cheese are fully spread on top in baking process . Rice is in a extremely hot condition , the seasonings on top add a tasty and cheesy hint to the dish . Pork jowl were in thin sliced , still keep its juicy and tender texture , with the rich tomato taste and lemongrass , it 's refreshing and pair well with the rice .
Mango mini cupcake
For desserts , we add 8 dollars for the cupcake and 15 dollars for the macaron . The cupcake is over small , mini size one . However , it tastes good and light with the mango paste . The cake is buttery and the pastes goes genuine with its authentic mango favor .
Earl grey macaron
For the macaron , certainly not recommended. The macaron is more like a stone with it's extremely hard texture , I can definitely ensure it took out from the freezer directly . Tastes dull and I can't even taste any earl grey favors .
Service with effectiveness , waitress will keep on refilling your tea ( their oolong tea is refillable ) . The shop owner will actively ask for you opinions for further improvements , listen your needs sincerely . I think this is very important to build up catering business , modest and studious attitude is the essentiality to maintain its potential . The decor is with clear cuts and simple decoration , adopt gold and white as main theme color . Since it's a small place ,tables are tightly squeezed together , but overall it's still comfortable .
With its heart warming and attentive services , even though the place is not that spacious with average good , it still got its attractive force . Start your "Good day " in " Gooday Cafe " .
