Maxim's is currently doing a collaboration with one of my favorite Sanrio characters, Hello Kitty. They have a series of baked goods but only available in Maxim's that have an in-house bakery. The only one I knew near me was Cake Lab in Wanchai. So, off I went! They have all sorts of products such as sugar toasts, matcha cubed bread, apple tarts and burger buns. If you purchase one of these and add $58 you can purchase a tote bag. Later, they will have a plate. I wasn't too interested in the bag

I decided on the green tea and red bean cube bread ($16). It was pretty cute with a stamp of Hello Kitty on one side.
Slicing it open, I was surprised to find that it was stuffed with a bit of red bean and some cream. I guess I was expecting red bean paste as that is what is normally found in when stated red bean or maybe the red bean would be evenly distributed in the bread dough itself. But this was not the case. The bread was ok. Soft and fluffy though not lot of matcha taste. The red bean was soft and sweet. But the cream was oddly salty and felt more like butter.
Overall, fairly cute. The bread was ok. I may be back to try the other burger items.
