Kowloon City is famous for not only Thai food, but also Japanese and Chinese cuisine nowadays. I never have much expectations on local izakaya but I was invited to Mutsu with a group of drinking friends.

Their food was surprisingly heartwarming! Not just packaged stuff like most local izakaya.

Sake-steamed clams were very salty-fresh, meaty, the taste of sake was just on point. Could finish the briny broth at ease!

Skewers and grilled menu like tofu, handmade tsukune, beef tongue and pork belly were grilled and seasoned nicely. Even they did not use charcoal to grill, the chef handled the heat well and grilled every item to perfection.

I was most impressed by the chicken wing. It's the genuine, huge awaodori chicken! The skin was nicely seared and the meat was very juicy.

The fish broth was very thick and full of sea bream aroma. Very hearty ending especially after drinking tons of sake!
