I cannot love this place more. The vibe is just perfect - spaced tables, comfy chairs, great view, quiet. Old Bailey is tucked away at a less crowded place in Tai Kwun, making it the dream place to sit and chill, or to have a small gathering or meeting.

I stopped by to have tea when me and my friend's legs were turing jelly from walking around Tai Kwun. I've always liked green tea, so I ordered one without thinking twice.

My friend on the contrary, took some time deciding what to drink - there are simply too many choices! From white teas to green teas to oolong teas to pu'er teas to mocktails to cocktails to fresh sodas - the range is just huge. Well, she settled on a white tea finally.

I got a sip of her white tea, it was milder than my green tea, but there is depth in a way similar to pu’er.

We decided not to order anything to eat at first, but with four cakes literally parading in front of us, we finally gave in. It was tough choosing the cake as well. Though there were only four choices, all of them have quite interest flavour combinations except for the green tea cheesecake. After several awkward trips to and fro the cake counter, me and my friend end up on the sesame chiffon cake with yuzu.

It took the cake some time to arrive, just when we started wondering what happened to our cake, the waiter arrived with our cake already split - he somehow knew we were going to share the cake, how thoughtful of him.

Everything about the cake is just right. Its spongey and delicate, with the right amount of bitterness and aroma from the sesame to be balanced by the sweetness and acidity of yuzu.
