It was always a symbol of extravagance and decadence when dessert lovers went for high tea. The toasts were very crisp and crunchy; the smoked salmon was fresh and the mayonnaise did not mask its taste, the roast beef was so-so but edible. The raisin scones were slightly tough in texture and it would have been better if they were more buttery and soft. The accompanying cream was very rich and it was a nice surprise to find jasmine tea jam. It would be unfair to compare the macarons with those from famed bakeries; the caramel was too sweet and heavy for my taste and the tea-flavoured one was still over-sugared but more tolerable. Tea was elegantly served in dainty sets - which was expected with this being their namesake and main attraction. The decor was classy and the service was fair. This constituted a very enjoyable decadent luxurious tea at $390 per head.
