Located on the 12/F of a commercial building, this restaurant is not a place you just happen to pass by. Yet the restaurant was packed when we arrived at lunch time! Luckily we had a reservation so we didn't have to wait. The place was pretty big with lots of tables so the busyness was a bit surprising to say the least. Supposedly no MSG is used in their food so perhaps that explains their popularity. The decor was a bit old school with dark wood furnitures and the word 囍 plastered around. The s

The set lunch menu was written on chalkboards on the walls with 3 options which only cost $60 including soup, main, and dessert. There were also an la carte menu as well but the set lunch seemed like the best deal. Since there were 4 of us, we picked all 3 set lunches to try.

The set lunch came with soup of the day which is different everyday according to the soup menu. Not only does it explain what the soup is, it also states the benefits of the soup.

Soup of the Day (Wednesday) - our soup for this day was pork bone soup with carrots. The benefits were to soothe fatigue and help with digestion. The soup was not too bad but could use more seasoning.

A) Three Cup Spareribs with Rice - my favorite of the 3 lunch sets! The spareribs were nicely marinated with soy sauce, rice wine and sesame oil. It was tender and tasty at the same time. The rice was flavorful as well as it had fully absorbed the sauce.

B) Preserved Mustard Greens with Chopped Chicken & Rice - usually preserved mustard greens are paired with pork belly but it was swapped out with chicken here. I like eating the preserved mustard greens yet the chicken tasted similar to the three cup spareribs.

C) Soy Sauce Stir-Fried Noodle with Shrimp - this tasted a bit like your typical stir-fried rice noodle with beef. The rice noodles were nicely stir-friend as they were adequately dry and firm. The shrimp was small and nothing special.

On a side note, these spicy pickles condiment on the table was really really good and really spicy!

Grass Jelly in Ginger Syrup - to be honest this combo was a bit weird. Ginger syrup usually goes better with dumplings while grass jelly should go with evaporated milk. While I appreciate the creativity, this just didn't work for me.

Overall, I think this restaurant is a great spot for lunch if you are craving for some home-cooked chinese food! The value for money is excellent while the choices are abundant and changes on a daily basis.
