The potato millefieulle is so overrated. It looks good on photo but taste like a cold hash brown from macdonalds: it feels cold, bland and wet and mushy and the topping taste like cheap expired mayonnaise.

The sourdough bread costs 70 dollars!!! (while most upscale restaurants provide for free) and only consists of a few pieces of cold bread with no sourdough taste. And i dont understand why the bread can taste wet/not crunchy on crust at all, as if it feels like it is someone‘s leftover bread.

The pea ravioli is (again) cold, with the pea mash feeling powdery (not smooth at all). The texture is like some half dissolved milk powder if you get what i mean, topped with some raw earthy aftertaste. I tried a similar dish at belon before and this is not how a pea ravioli should taste. The one served in vivant chewing grass. The ravioli skin is also very thick and dry.

The short ribs and veal are ok but nothing special

Wine choices are also limited but pricey (over 100 per glass for some supermarket commonplace brand)

All dishes and portions are tiny. Turns out you will need to at least order over 6 dishes (each dish maybe with only one or two bites of food) pay over 1000 dollars per person and felt that as if you have just finished a normal appetizer portion of food in any other western restaurant. If you are willing to pay 1000 pp, you can probably enjoy a decent full set 3/4 course meal in other restaurants in central of much better quality, but here all you got is a half empty stomach with low quality food. By the way they serve the dishes quite slow as well so i would suggest you eat another meal to half-fill yourself first before coming to this restaurant.

The restaurant is relatively tiny and hence quite noisy as you can hear what the other table talks about and will get knocked onto once in a while by the waiter if you sit on the aisle side.

Lastly the foreigner 鬼佬waiter service is very rude and unprofessional. He intentionally ignores local guest request occasionally such as when asked for services such as add-on orderings, explaining the menu, refilling water and took a long time to get the bill, while most of the time walking around doing nothing. No smile on his face all night and his face looks like as if everyone is owing him money and he almost throw the dishes at you when serving.

He also keeps repeating a slightly over one-hour of return table policy. When the timing is approaching he almost yelled at the customer (who is eating) and almost physically pushed them out of the restaurant to continue the food in icy cold weather road side (literally with cars passing by) with NO chair offered (while there are other empty chairs inside restaurant which was used to put belongings) The hk-local waiter did tried to make up for the experience apologetically but the foreigner seems to be his manager and little could be done.

If you want an extremely overpriced, mediocre restaurant that serves you cold bland food and throws you out of table (physically) after one hour regardless of whether you finished the food already, then you can go try vivant.

Otherwise i think any other average soho/ central restaurant will serve u a better experience with better food at probably half the price.
