This place seems super popular, and is teaming with customers waiting outside for their takeaway order during a weekday lunch time. The service is fast though, and you are swiftly shown to a table and your order is taken within a minute of seating. It came in a huge serving, perfect for my hungry appetite. The toppings were generous, with glistening pork chops and steaming dumplings (4 pieces) piled high on top. It was so wonderful to dive into this.
The soup, oh the soup. While advertised as hot and sour, it actually has numbing chilli in it as well. The spicyness was complex and it was just the right amount of sour. With a rough heap of coriander and spring onion to bring freshness, and little pieces of pickled vegetable for tang, it was a party in my mouth and I was loving it.
The noodles were perfect. The pork chop, although tasty, had a few pieces of shattered bone stuck to it, so you do have to be careful not to chomp down unknowingly whilst being carried away by the flavours. The dumplings are plump and filled with fatty pork. This dish is not something you'd lose weight with.
All the stores are currently in Ngau Tau Kok/Kwun Tong. If only they had more stores elsewhere! I would certainly revisit if ever I'm in this area again.
