I really love sandwiches. Ideally, there'd be a place for great deli sandwiches around, and with a name like Deli Gator, you'd think that there'd be some of that going on here, but this is more of a hot sandwich place-- not complainin' though. We got a side of coleslaw. It's a little bizarre in that it contained crumbles of bleu cheese, but surprisingly they were not overpowering. The coleslaw was nice and crispy and had a nice mix of vegetables, and was not too mayonaise-y, so on the whole, goo
The sandwich was fairly good. I'm not sure the baguette was quite the best choice for it, and the provalone sauce seemed a little fake-cheesy. Aside from the bread, it's an OK rendition of an authentic Philly cheesesteak, but that's why I wasn't thrilled with it, because authentic cheesesteaks are terrible.
They came out of the kitchen after we'd ordered and said they were out of fries, did we mind curly fries? No, I didn't know there was a choice, but curly fries all the way! The fries were nice and crisp and well-seasoned; I didn't even use ketchup. They're probably just Ore-Ida frozen fries, but I don't knock it when it's good.
Altogether we thought the food here was pretty good, and I would definitely come back to try the other things, like the chicken parm.
