一家 (English name: One Family) was a surprising place to eat. We didn't think much of it when we decided to eat here as our original choice had way too long a queue. And I was getting hungry and tired. So, this place offered a simple pasta meal. LIttle did we know it was more than that! It's a very small place. Menu is in Chinese and partial English. The English menu is on the boards outside the restaurant. There is no 10% service charge.I got the dinner set which came with a drink. I chose a pass

I got the dinner set which came with a drink. I chose a passionfruit tea. It was pretty good. Not too sweet but nice and fruity.
My dinner was a rotini with stewed oxtail in red wine ($75). First things first ... did they just pour the entire package of pasta onto my plate? It seemed like it. It was so much pasta! WOW! The ox tail was tender and fell off the bone but .... it didn't taste like any sort of wine sauce. It was just a very weak sauce that had a slight hint of tomato but not much.
Boyfriend didn't get the dinner set and ordered a la carte. He had he spaghetti with sliced steak and black pepper ($44). Again! So much pasta! Like they used the entire package! The food though was ok. I felt there was too much pepper but boyfriend felt there wasn't enough.
The food tasted ok. Not great. But the portion size was unbelievable. It was so big. The table next to us ordered the pork knuckle and wow ... they shaved the meat onto the plate and it looked like a mountain. Would we be back? Unure. But it really is the biggest portion in town.
