Want fancy Indian food but can’t book Chaat? this could be an alternative. The entire restaurant is embellished with golden glamour. Since first tasting this dish at Chaat, I’ve instantly fallen in love with it. Colorful, textural and fun, smashing through the fried puff revealed a mix of fruits and chutney, it’s sweet, spicy and tangy all in one. Chutney’s version is a bit more fruit-centric, the apple is a bit too dominant and wasn’t a flavor party as expected. The fried puff ‘shell’ is also too hard and thick.

My favorite here goes to the Tandoori Octopus ($198), so much chargrilled aroma, incredibly tender and very flavorful. The corn, beetroot and mint yogurt chutney are perfect complements.

Butter chicken ($198) and Garlic naan ($42) are must order at Indian restaurant. Their butter chicken is very vibrant and more tomatoey, the heat and spices could be turn up a notch. Chicken is slightly on the dry side. Naan is freshly made, puffy and fluffy, but would love a bit more char and crispy edges.

Overall the flavors are not as complex and balanced, but it’s still a good choice for decent Indian food (it’s bookable!) but I would say the pricing here is very aggressive so not very value for money.
