I studied in the nearby primary school, and my mom used to buy a cup cake from this restaurant, tens of cents at that time, together will a bottle a Yakult, it was my refreshment during recess time, I'm talking about something in the early 70's.  Strange though, and also quite hard to believe, yesterday was the first time I ate inside the premises, I guess it has been refurbished many many times since then, I don't think it would be of the same vibe decades ago.Cut to the chase for my visit yes

Cut to the chase for my visit yesterday, the restaurant was one of the most buzzy places in this historical housing estate, since I visited dead on the lunch hour, I suppose 10 minutes of waiting is quite reasonable.  The restaurant mainly caters for customers from the neighourhood, services and decor will not be their selling point, but the environment is clean enough and service is efficient, I have nothing to complain.  I sat down and ordered a baked sphaghetti with pork chop and tomato, a cup of hot milk tea came with it for free, yes, free.

The spaghetti is a reproach for those of Cafe de Carol and the likes, at a price of $38 you could hardly find any resemblance in terms of quality, quantity from other restaurants in Hong Kong. The spaghetti is softened to the right extent, the tomato fresh and provide the right amount of kicks for the whole dish, the pork chop is of barbecue taste, a bit trite for my palate, but doesn't taste bad, and don't forget there're two big pieces of it, ready to fill giant's stomach.

The hot milk tea served with the vintage thick porcelain cup is the best I've ever had, smooth and silky and not a slightest glitch in my mouth, nor a tinge of sourness from tea below par, it comes free with whatever you order, a little steal for every customer,  indeed I'd pay $38 just for that cup of milk tea, no kidding!

Other Info. : The milk tea needs no sugar, sugar will only spoil such top notch stuff.
