All day dim sum restaurants are places boyfriend and I love to for a casual meal. And in Hong Kong there are many. We decided to try out 銀津點心茶餐廳 (English name: Sea Silver Restaurant) as we were thinking what to have in Mong Kok when we came across this. An all day dim sum place.Menu is in English and Chinese. Deep Fried Fluid Sweet Yolk Cream Toast ($23) was something I wanted. It was a Hong Kong style French toast.
But slice it open and a runny salty sweet custard flows out. This was fun and messy. The toast was not too oily. There was a lot of runny custard. Definitely fun to eat.
Steamed Crab Roe with Pork Dumpling ($22) was something else we ordered. These were fine. The meat was firm and fresh. A good mix of shrimp and pork meat.
We also added on a two people set that costs $108. This set includes two selections of A (mostly rice and steamed rice rolls) and two selections of B (dim sum items and two hot drinks (with upgrade add on for cold). These are the items we chose:
Steamed rice with minced pork squid. Boyfriend felt there wasn't enough sauce so they were able to give us more. Otherwise, the rice was a bit dry. The minced pork squid patty was ok. Firm but not a lot of squid flavor.
Steamed rice flour roll with BBQ pork was not too good. The BBQ pork was dry. The rice roll was a bit too thick.
Steamed Chicken Feet with Park Dumpling was a bit on the spicy side. It skin was soft and fell off the bone easily though I felt the sauce was too thick.
Steamed shrimp and greens dumpling was pretty good. Though there wasn't a lot of shrimp as it was made up mostly of greens. But it was good none the less. The skin wasn't too thick.
The dim sum was ok. Not great but not terrible. There were some that wasn't too good. But prices weren't expensive so I guess you have to take that into account. Unsure if I'd be back because nothing really drew me back.
