Had some work business to deal with for lunch that day so played hookie and called a friend out for lunch. We were in the Wanchai area and I heard there was a restaurant that had really yummy spicy noodles. The price was local around $30-$50 including a beverage. It's the usual choose the level of spiciness and all the sides you want to go with it type of menu. I obviously chose the most spicy one because it's just so enjoyable (plus I love the challenge)!

The friend that I played hookie with, ordered the pork chop and intestine spicy noodles and it smelled fantastic. But because I didn't like that pungent flavor of intestines (they really stain the soup base with that flavor), I didn't enjoy it quite as much as he did.

BUT, my pork chop spicy noodle was absolutely amazing!

The soup base was spicy and not too oily, and the extra green onions really freshened up the whole deal. This isn't the usual Yunnan spicy noodles you taste outside--it wasn't blasting with flavor--but it had that tantalizing taste that makes you want to keep eating it until the very last bite. OF COURSE, the pork chop was to die for too. It was thick and juicy, and not a least bit dry. I still have trouble pinpointing what was used to marinate the pork chop, but it probably include a lot of different spices.

Overall, it's definitely a restaurant I'll revist (over and over) again. Perfect place for a quick and simple lunch, or tea break.
