"Eco, but VERY expensive." That's what I always thought of Kelly & Moss. I have to admit though, that their cakes look mouth-wateringly good. Sometimes, indulging to one's desires is allowed... So, to fancy desserts. There were two cakes on my mind: Earl Grey Cake and Light Version Cheesecake. The Earl Grey was tempting, but looked a tiny bit heavy with the icing. And so the winner is Cheesecake. This cake had five layers: two creamy fillings sandwiched between two biscuit bases with the top one covered in icing sugar. The best part was that cutting those bases required no effort at all. Each bite easily melted away in one's mouth. The metallic chocolate chip with four holes was artistic. It kind of reminded me of a clothing button. This little square added some colour contrast to the otherwise light-coloured cake. Now, on to a green side point of view. Kelly and Moss used a thin wooden plate and a wooden fork to accompany this little cake. Fancy stuff again. No wonder the prices are high. One thing though, if they were so keen on promoting eco-friendliness why not use washable wares? It would be equally elegant. I mean the wooden cutlery and containers would be thrown away in the end - them being disposable. Besides, the plate was not big enough to securely hold the food. There was a hollow space between the cake holder and the plate. I was afraid that I would drop the cake on the way back to my seat.
Aside from this, I quite enjoyed the experience. It was absolutely worth trying.
