The restaurant is setup in a way that the tables can be pushed together or separated to accommodate parties of various sizes.

There's no English menu, but most of the kaisendons are illustrated on the large pictures on the walls.   XO and I decided to each order a kaisendon and split an order of Japanese fried chicken.

Japanese Fried Chicken (kara age):  The chicken had a crispy outside and was not dry at all on the inside.   The portion was perfect for the two of us to share.

Our kaisendons came with miso soup, and to our surprise there were clams in our soup!  The clams were nice and plump, and I loved the fried tofu pieces in the miso soup!

Tetsujin Deluxe Kaisendon: My kaisendon came with ikura, uni, botan ebi, and negitoro. The ikura crisply-popped in my mouth and was seasoned just right!  The uni didn't have the bitterness that can occur in the winter season.  The botan ebi pieces were mixed within the negitoro and were very fresh and had a natural sweetness.  The negitoro was also very fresh and paired nicely with the seasoned sushi rice!

Shika Kaisendon was a surprisingly good restaurant tucked away in the Western district!  If XO wasn't working there that day, I probably would have nothing found it on my own!
