Thanks to OpenRice, godbro XO wons tickets to see Now I See You 2.  We decided to meet up at Times Square last Wednesday to grab dinner and see the movie afterwards.  We were checking out the restaurant listings on the lobby and saw that there's a new restaurant on the 11th floor called Mad for Garlic.  I believe another foodie friend of mine posted a photo of an awesome garlic bread the night before which is from Mad for Garlic, so XO and I decided to have dinner there.Mad for Garlic's brightly

Mad for Garlic's brightly-lit entrance is hard to miss once you exit the elevator.

Since the restaurant is still in its soft opening phase, there's a sign posted stating that the restaurant is only accepting cash for payment at the moment.

To further enforce the restaurant's garlic theme, there's a cart with plenty of decorative garlic greeting customers in the front of the restaurant.

Once inside, there's a bar area on the right hand side by the entrance of the restaurant.

The restaurant had a really high ceiling and spacious seating, so it didn't feel crammed and noisy even when the restaurant got increasingly crowded.

There's an open kitchen area towards the back of the restaurant.

Once we were seated, XO and I looked through the menu and decided to start with a drink and order our food items one at a time.

We saw that the menu and placemats had Korean on them and did a quick online search and found out that Mad for Garlic is actually a Korean import!

The Red Wine Berry Cooler tasted just like a fizzy sangria!  Very refreshing and fruity on a hot summer night!

After XO and I took pictures of the awesome-looking tower, the server proceeded to stuff the golden mound of garlic into the baguette and split the tower into 6 pieces of garlic bread.

The Garlic Bread Tower tasted as awesome as it looked!  The bread had a nice crunchy crust, and it was bursting with beautiful garlicky aroma and flavor!

After the garlic bread tower, we decided to order another item stamped "best" on the menu.

Garlic Snowing Pizza: The pizza had snowing in its name because the server would shred parmesan cheese on to the pizza, and when the server is shreding the cheese it would look like there's cheese snowing on to the pizza.  (I have included a video of the snowing effect in this review, but I am having issues inserting the video correctly so hopefully, it'd show up!)

The pizza had a good crispy crust, and the fried garlic slices on the pizza were crispy as well.  The shrimps on the pizza were very tender and had a nice crunch to them.  The pineapple was very refreshing and a good contrast to the strong garlic and cheese flavors!

Crab & Lobster Pasta: We decided to order this pasta since the pastas stamped "best" in the menu were all spicy, and XO and I can't really take spicy food!  The spaghetti was perfectly al dente and coated in the luscious cream sauce.  The lobster pieces in the dish had a nice crunchy bite to them and were not tough at all!  Overall, the pasta dish was very delicious!

For dessert, XO and I had our hearts on the sweet pizza after seeing nutella and banana in its description in the menu!

Who would've thought that garlic could even be in desserts?  There was a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream in the middle of the pizza and cloves of garlic and slices of banana were scattered on the pizza.

Vanilla Ice Cream on Sweet Pizza: The crust of the sweet pizza was very thin and crispy.  The garlic cloves were actually sweet and didn't have a hint of bitterness!  The combination of nutella, garlic, banana, and vanilla ice cream turned out to be fantastic!  It was like fireworks of hazelnut, garlic, banana, and vanilla flavors were exploding on the palate!

Mad for Garlic, the new comer at Times Square, will truly make you mad, mad, mad for garlic!  The garlic theme carried on from appetizer to dessert, but the garlic wasn't so overwhelming that you felt like they were force-feeding the garlic theme!  Definitely a must try for fans of garlic!  Just be forewarned that you won't be kissing anyone and can probably even ward off draculas after the garlic laden meal at Mad for Garlic!
