Here's the new take-away location operated by my favorite veggie restaurant, Life Cafe. The deli section offers Life Cafe's signature soups, salads and quiches, as well as the ever-popular cake selection. Although the shop is meant for take-aways there are a few seats at the back, so I opted for dine-in this time.

Life Salad ($35): mixed baby greens, grated carrot & beetroot, sprouted mung beans, organic chickpea hummus, mixed nuts and seeds, nutritional yeast, fresh herb dressing (minus the flatbread which was present in the restaurant version).

This remained my favorite at Life, and considering the prices of the other items here this salad was an absolute bargain. A filling salad packed with natural goodies and nutrients, the balance of colors and textures would make you think twice that salad is rabbit food. No way! The dressing was more like a pesto equivalent.

I also ordered a soup (small $35, large $50, the large one comes with a piece of bread), and the soup of the day was called Mushroom, Cauliflower and Dil (Dill or Dal?). Here at Life they did a great job in pureeing the vegs into a smooth soup, giving it a smooth texture without using cream or milk (this is a vegan place). It was piping hot and the taste was mainly mushroom-y. If you order the large one it is already a decent meal in itself.

All else was good except that they use disopsable containers and cutlery, which is a bit ironic for a "environmentally friendly" eatery.
