I am writing in complaint of the appalling attitude of the service waitress at the restaurant in Soho. Me and my friends made a reservation for table of 5 at the restaurant in Soho today (16July). The first impression was already so atrocious. We stepped into the restaurant and spoke in Cantonese that we have made a reservation and your waiter immediately barked in the most boorish tone “Can you speak English”. I would have very much liked retorted that I have no idea Al Dente is so discriminati
We decided to let matter rest since it is our friend’s birthday and all but the customer services of both 2 waiter and 1 waitress is horrendous that I am compelled to pen this written complaint against them. During our meal, we told your waitress to leave the fork and spoons after our soup since we would like to be more environment friendly instead of changing utensils for every item, moreover we would like to be left alone in our private conversations instead of her hovering about it the simple dingy space between us. Yet your waitress was so fierce in her reply which was “I am just changing your table setting!” with the blackest scowl on her face.
When we asked for the bill, my boss gave your waiter his credit card. After processing the bill, the waiter simply threw the bill on our table, instead of presenting it to my boss. When my boss shouted at him that he is at the other end of the table not at the other end, the waiter has the cheek to snap back loudly “How am I supposed to know? Do you need to shout?!”
With this kind of customer service standard that Al Dente provides, I would firmly say that I will never make another reservation in that restaurant every again and would advise any and everyone I knows to do so too.
