I saw on Instagram that Elephant Grounds opened their latest concept, Elephant Grounds Roastery in Sheung Wan so I couldn't wait to pay a visit! The store is HUGE, so seat turnaround would be faster than usual. Needless to say, on a Saturday afternoon, it was PACKED with people but luckily we didn't have to wait for a seat. This new store features outdoor seating (dog friendly!) and a big pastry counter. After peeking at the pastry counter, I couldn't help but pick something up. I happened to have a scone craving and there were 2 scone flavours available -- Raisin and Earl Grey, and so as an avid hater of raisins, I went for the Earl Grey Scone. The scone is quite small so I would get 2 next time, but I thought it could've been served with some clotted cream or jam (jam is +$10 but I didn't think it was worth it for such a small scone) as scones can be a bit dry on it's own. I thought the Earl Grey flavour could be stronger too, but not a bad scone overall.

My boyfriend was a bit hungrier so he went for the Avocado Toast option, but was unfortunately let down. The menu description says 'crushed avocado', we prefer it sliced though so that worked out for us haha. But the avo toast itself doesn't really come with seasoning so we had to ask for additional salt and pepper, the toast wasn't even toasted either -- it was pretty much just plain avocado on soft bread. As far as value for money, this doesn't make the cut☹️

One thing I've always liked about Elephant Grounds is their Matcha Latte -- it's BIG and the matcha taste is strong. I love their latte art as well, it's a different intricate shape every time! Their matcha doesn't come sweet so I would ask them to add a bit sugar if you like it sweeter.

Sometimes, people get green juice cravings (not me), my boyfriend ordered this one called The Cleanse -- made with juiced kale, cucumber, green apple, pineapple and celery. This is a great option for people who want to get into green juice as the apple and pineapple make it sweet, so if you can't do the gnarly taste of pure vegetables, try this. I thought it was a bit too sour though and didn't see why it needed to come with a straw.

Overall, I like the vibe of this place. It's a great laptop cafe to spend the afternoon or just meeting someone for lunch! The brunch menu on weekends look really good so I definitely have to come back to try the main menu items, you know, other than the avo toast (I'm eyeing those overnight oats!). The variety at Elephant Grounds Roastery doesn't disappoint, and the pastry counter looks amazing! Well done on opening such a wonderful store 👏
