There are a few cafes in Sheung Wan who offer pastries and cakes for dessert, yet these cafes often close earlier. If you dine in the area at night and want something sweet afterwards, you can go to the Green Lounge. I came over with Hungry Su to the Green Lounge today by invitation to try their dessert manu, but since the Green Lounge is famous for their brunch, we decided to try their signature benedicts before indulging in the desserts.

The Lounge's Signature Benedicts
I have never had benedicts with prawn before and it turned out to be quite matching! The muffin was crunchy with a soft spongy inner, the prawn was fresh and sweet, the poached egg although was a bit small in size, were perfectly poached with a runny and sweet yolk. Served on top was a creamy sauce, together with a fresh salad at side make the dish the perfect weekend brunch.

Chiba Green Tea Molten with Ice cream
The green tea lava cake has a strong and powerful green tea taste but a bit on the bitter side. The sweet vanilla ice-cream and the red beans at the side brought down the bitterness a bit but still the lava cake would taste better if it is sweeter itself. Texture-wise it was moist enough. We would love to have more lava coming out from the cake though.

Creme Brûlée
The creme brûlée was a signiture and had an appealing look. There was a thin caramelised crust and the inner was quite smooth and creamy. We reckon it would be better if there is a stronger vanilla touch and perhaps a thicker caramelised layer at the top.

Lemon & Kiwi Yogurt
For the drink, I had a delicious blend of Lemon & Kiwi Yogurt. It was sweet and tarty and at the same time. It was like a smoothie, not too thick with many kiwi seeds to add on extra texture.

Thank you the Green Lounge for the lovely tasting brunch and introducing the new desserts to us. The benedicts was absolutely amazing, the desserts were okay but after some improvements would hopefully be great as well!
