Recently drove out to the long established Golden Castle in Shek Kong. It is convenient as it has car parking right outside the restaurant. The Carbonara was one of the best I’ve had anywhere, even from well established Italian restaurants, the spaghetti was Al-dente and the sauce was creamy with a velvety egg and cheese taste. There were lots of thick cuts of bacon 🥓 which made the dish very luxurious. The dish is seasoned well no salt and pepper was required to be added.
The pork lion was seared nicely with the marks to show on it, it wasn’t over cooked and was tender and juicy. The black pepper sauce was tangy and gave moisture and a depth of flavor to the pork. The spaghetti was Al-dente like the Carbonara.
Overall, the food is good, the service is very professional and the restaurant is clean and spacious. Great place for western food in the middle of nowhere.
