 The dried small macerkel was sweet and savoury at the same time, a perfect way to go with some rice, it really reminded me of those Chinese salted fish that I had when I was little.

 The tamago was soft and sweetened with a smooth texture. It was not like those layered egg sushi but it was like a whole block of egg.

 The shittake mushroom was surprisingly soft and nicely marinated. The earthy taste was strong and it was not too dry. The whole piece can be easily tore off. Yummy!

 The Japanese Kamaboko was pretty tough in texture with a light fish taste. I am never a fan of these kind of flour based cake

 Fried sweet potato cake stuffed with chestnut. The smooth and hearty sweet potato was sweet itself and I liked how they added chestnut to it for an extra bite.

 Mentaiko stuffed chicken wing was savoury with a seafood taste from the mentaiko. Each bite was meaty and savoury, the boneless chicken wing was just fun to eat.

 The mackerel tasted as expected with a light fishy taste from the skin. The firm texture was very filling and I was at least not very dry in texture.

 There is also some kind of savoury sauce with seaweed for you to go with the toppings. The taste was strong yet matched well with the fish especially.

 Lastly, there is a red bean mochi rice roll like which was not sweet with a good old Japanese red bean taste to it. The soft and chewy texture was fun to eat. It was such a cute little thing to enjoy after all those savouriness from other toppings.

 Although the whole bento costs $168, I still think it was a nice Japanese dining experience during any self-rewarding lunch/dinner. It's interesting to try some of the rarely seen toppings in Hong Kong and this bento really reminded me of my train ride. I can't wait to come back again to try other kind of bento or just sushi itself!
