Stumpled arcoss this shop in Mong Kok when I was at the market thinking what to cook for dinner tonight with my family. The lanterns in the ally caught my attention and cooking at home was immediately called off.

There was a short queue at the shop but we were quickly greeted by staff offering us the menu while we're waiting. It was quite hot but luckily we didn't wait long before seats were available.

As it's our first visit to this shop we were looking for some recommendations, and the following were ordered:

1) Pork ramen in spring onion sauce

This would be the best if I had to pick one, the spring onion sauce matched very well with the soup and it made the ramen come to life; not to mention the home made pork was very delicious and sweet.

2) Pork ramen in jigoku hot and spicy sauce (level 1)

I'm not a big fan of spicy noodles so I only had a sip of this, I was told that the hot sauce was home made as well (that the chef all came down with tears). My wife liked it very much as the spicyness was just right.

3) Iwate ramen

Sister got this noodle as she was greedy and wanted to try the pork, pork cartilage and also the beef. Also to note that the soup is different from the first one above as this is a pork soup base. I did try the soup as well as the pork cartilage, the soup didn't taste anything with MSG in it, while the pork cartilage was cooked well enough that it melts.

4) Chicken cartilage marinated in minced pork topped with home made teriyake sauce

This was a new dish as per the staff, the menu would change from time to time so the customers won't get bored of the menu. It's the fist time I've had such dish before and I must say it taste quite good (partly because I'm a fan of chicken cartilage).

Overall a great experience in such a local japanese ramen shop, the staffs are very nice and talkative. And I could see their passion in making improvements as they asked for feedback after we finished our meal.

It won't be long before I pay this shop a visit again.
