What a surprisingly amazing experience tonight that I definitely would like to share immediately! My friend was craving for soba/ cold noodles and started googling restaurants serving these nearby. Ending up visiting this small cute restaurant.

Restaurant was so packed and we were lucky enough to catch the last seats. Staff were busy but still nicely greeted us and served us menu and tea. We asked for grilled pork cartilage with sumiso with cold udon and bonito tataki with soba. We additionally ordered the shrimp and veggie tempura as a side too.

First came with the appetiser, yuzu pickled-ish sprout salad. Appropriate size with a good crunch. Appetising and clean to wake up the palate.

Shrimp and veggie tempura came after. Visually, very neat and authentic. It consisted of three shrimp tempuras, aubergines, green beans, mushrooms, pumpkin and lotus roots. A huge variety and pretty big portion. All batter was crispy and thinly coated. Shrimp one was the best. Cooked just right and still tasted fresh. Veggie ones were slight oily. Mushrooms had a strong earthy taste. Very tasty. Personally love pumpkin, with a hint of sweetness and velvety texture plus a crispy coating, absolutely delicious! Tempura sauce was serving alongside but didnt come with shredded turnip.

Grilled pork cartilage soba was served after. Just the presentation already very satisfying. Aromatic smoky smell from the pork cartilage definitely made you started drooling. Udon was very chewy, thick and soft. Very traditional. Adding the scallions and wasabi to the soba sauce, every udon bite tasted lightly salted while spiced. Love that the udon was served chilled that just like the authentic ones. Grilled pork cartilage was so soft and nearly melted in mouth. Well grilled. Each pieces was very savoury with a hint of toasty. Love the sprinkled toasted sesame for an extra nuttiness. A lightly drizzled sesame sauce side salad was also served on a side for freshening. Well done.
Soba was also perfectly done. A thicker type of soba, very good with absorbing the soba sauce. Light chewy which every bite was addicting. Bonito tataki was well served. Thick cut and cooked to perfection. Crispy skin with sashimi texture. A must try combination of the wasabi and ginger served aside, totally kicked it up a notch. Absolutely loving it!

Staff were very observant. No matter how busy the restaurant was, they would keep helping to refill tea and clean up your desk for more comfortable seating.

Definitely coming back for more goodnesses and highly recommend!!!!
