I don't understand the people who don't like the Globe. I get it's a bit expensive, and it can get a bit loud during peak hours. But there are so many pluses, including the food.

I've tried a ton of stuff on their menu (which changes seasonally) but the ones i always come back to are:

Pies - Homemade dough/filling and amazing. I think they have 4-5 types, but i usually get the chicken, which is excellent. if you like pies, these are some of the best i've tried in hong kong.

Hand Chopped Chili - I'm a bit of a chili weirdo, as in if i see it on a menu, i HAVE to try it. Suffice to say i've had some terrible chili. For my money, the Globe's is the best in HK. Seasoning is delicious, high quality ground beef and onions, a bit of cheese on top, some rice on the side. Perfect - have it with a side bread.

Caesar Salad - a very good, and reliable caesar salad with dressing that tastes homemade (?) and not overused. Romaine is fresh and if you get the extra chicken, that's not terrible either.

The Chicken kebabs are also excellent as a starter - excellent mint yogurt dip.

If you're going to the Globe, you are of course in the mood for beer, for which they cannot be topped in HK. Besides the 10-ish on tap, they have literally hundreds by the bottle, for all preferences. My faves are the Big Job (UK) and Rising Sun Pale Ale (Japan).

At the end of the day, it is a bar/pub, so don't go expecting intimacy or romance, though it has some corners for that too.

GO TO THE GLOBE.
