I am so lucky to be invited to try the Ming Garden food organized by openrice last week. It’s a very gorgeous night, we can see the renowned chef to cook abalone in front of us, and their restaurant managers stay with us the whole night, from 7:30 – 11pm to introduce each food and how they made it to us. Most importantly, they told us their long experience is beverage & dining industry, we can eat the top right food with the most reasonable price than another hotel/ Michelin star restaurants! Eg
We have about 16 dishes that night. The most memorable one is the last dishes – walnut egg white soup. As a dessert lover like me, I used to taste walnut soup in many restaurants. Their walnut soup is exclusively smooth, not too thick, not too watery, not too sweet, with lots of egg white mixture, it’s the best match to make the whole walnut soup become the happiest ending of whole night meal. The restaurant manager even told us that many OL will order it during lunch time, over 100 bowls are sold every day! Must try!
Shark fins with chicken soup清宮明火雞煲翅:full of shark fin, no mix with other meats! Chef said they takes over 4 hours to make it, soup is very light with full of chicken taste. Traditional and good.
Roasted lamb rack菓木烤紐西蘭羊鞍 :my lamb is a bit overcooked, it’ll be better to have around 60% cook.
5 head abalone古法五頭鮑魚鴨掌 :Chef said he used 3-4 days to prepare it! It’s my first time to make an abalone as big as my bowl, over 4 inch in dimension. I love sweety yummy abalone!!!!!
Fried fresh bamboo shrimp豉油皇生煎海花竹蝦:it’s very difficult to buy fresh bamboo shrimp in the market, the shrimp is as big as my palm, about 7 inch/ shrimp, great!
Fried 2 kinds of clam with xo sauce XO醬碧綠炒雙蚌 :
Steamed garoupa老虎班 :fish is cut evenly and soy sause is just right, again, not greasy, very smooth, best hot dish tonight!
Crispy chicken黃金脆皮文昌雞 :very clampy and not too dry, very strong “ chicken favor” , not made by frozen chicken, ok!
Lobster with soaked rice西施龍蝦肉泡飯: can’t find lobster, but very surprice with the mixture of crispy rice and soaked rice in the mouth, very special and delicious!
bean curd skin with Pea Shoot鮮竹泡翡翠: very light and sleek bean curd skin, together with pea shoot and some dried scallops on top, very tasty and healthy!
Hokkaido 3.6 milk mango pudding北海道3.6牛乳芒果布甸: lots of mango granule with my favorite 3.6 hokkaido milk…too full to eat the whole cup~
Osmanthus flowers jelly宮廷桂花糕: the coconut taste is a bit too strong and cover the fagrance of osmanthus flowers, still quite good. Beautiful presentation.
Bird's nest bun燕窩椰汁壽桃包: a bit too sweet for me, yet, best for lady to eat for smoother skin, the traditional lotus paste is great, hot serve, just right.
Walnut soup生磨蛋白杏仁茶: Exclusively smooth, not too thick, not too watery, not too sweet, with lots of egg white mixture
One more thing I have to mention is their service. The waitress is very nice, after we eat the fish, she proactively help us to cut the fish head and let us easily share around. The whole team is very helpful, when our table waitress is busy, another one will come to serve us immediately! We feel their heartiness and efficiency, well done!
When we are enjoying the last meal, I walked to the toilet and find that there is absolutely clean and tidy, it’s very important for a dining experience too! I found some poster stated that around $16/ dumsum in the day time, and we asked the manager, he said the day time meal is actually in a very reasonable price, as they just opened for 3 months and would like to attract more people to come! Obviously, they achieve this aim this time..hahaha ;)
As my bf is working nearby, we plan to go there next month for my mum’s birthday!
