Doing window shopping in Causeway Bay under the heat was definitely draining. Walking pass Matcha Tokyo with no queue for sure caught my attention to just get something icy cooling down.

I ordered the ice Japan Premium. Menu said using a combination of Kagoshima and Kyoto Matcha leaves which reaches a perfect balance of aroma, colour and freshness. Not much on a bitter side while giving a long lasting after taste.

Nevertheless, the drink didn't taste anything like the menu said. Indeed seeing a staff whisking the green tea powder using a Chasen was promising, the matcha itself didn't taste much of an earthiness. Neither the after taste nor the bitterness could be distinguished. All I could describe was tasting similar to the store bought powder homemade matcha. It was a disappointment. Optimistically, it was cold enough to cool myself down.

This price with this experience, I personally prefer a Taiwanese big ice brewing tea. Not a huge fan.
