Reason for visiting:
I noticed this place last week when I visitied Via Tokyo, and then saw it in a magazine that I bought so I asked my fds G & J to try it with me.

Decor:
The lighting was dark, the ordering area was narrow and the music was loud, so it probably wasn't an ideal place for us girls to catch up since G & J hadn't seen each other for a few years. However, if you venture further into the back, you'll notice an outdoor area which is a bit more spacious and peaceful. However, we thought it was too dark so we decided to stay inside by the ordering area.

Weird, but it took me a while to notice the two large, cool and impressive art works on the wall.
I loved them! They definitely added some character to this restaurant.

Taste & Value:
Ordering was pretty simple.
Step 1 was to choose your dish (Burrito, Bowl, Salad, Tacos(2)).
Step 2 was to choose your meat (Pork, Barbacao Beef, Chicken, Black Beans or Asian Beef). Step 3 was to choose your beans( Black beans or Beans with Bacon).
Step 4 was to choose your salsa (Pico de gallo, Corn green chili, Salsa verde).

4 steps later, this is what I got. A barbacao beef burrito with black beans and corn green chili ($68). The burrito was a reasonable size. What I liked most was the arroz verde(green rice) used in the burrito because it reminded me of my mother who makes very good arroz verde. It wasn't as tasty as my mom's but it was ok.
My friend asked what the barbacao beef was and we were told it is Mexican BBQ beef. I had intended to try the pork, but since I barely eat beef in HK, I decided that I needed to boost my iron.
The stewed beef wasn't bad and the corn salsa was fresh and not spicy. Nothing was overpowering and all the ingredients went very well together.
It tasted better than what I had expected.

For some reason all 3 of us went for the barbacao beef, so even though G & J had tacos , I imagine that they'd be pretty similar to my burrito flavourwise. The tacos came in 2 and each came in a box. The top one is G's barbacao beef taco with beans with bacon and pico de gallo ($68). The bottom one is J's barbacao beef with black beans and corn green chili ($68)
They commented that their tacos were really juicy.

Service & Hygiene:
I think the place was overstaffed because the 4 staff were just standing around and chatting in a foreign language. Not very welcoming I must say. Since they were hanging out at the food station, it made me wonder about the hygiene and made me wanna leave while waiting for J to come. However, I noticed that they do wear gloves when making the food, which relaxed me a little. Also, it wasn't busy at all when we visited, but still the staff mixed up the beans of the 2 taco orders. We wouldn't have known if they hadn't tell us, but when they did tell us, they handled it by taking G's tacos back. I'm not sure what they did. Service could have been better I think.

Final Verdict:
I still want to try the pork and Asian beef, but I'll probably order to go next time.
