Dropped by this charming little Sri Lankan restaurant tucked away in sheung wan. Food was amazing, service impeccable, if you miss Ceylon food or want to try, it's the perfect place to go! We tried the Deviled Pork. Pork was a touch chewy but the flavours were all there. Similar to Chinese sweet and sour, the pork comes in a thick sauce with caramelized onions and bell peppers. We tried the Deviled Pork. Pork was a touch chewy but the flavours were all there. Similar to Chinese sweet and sour, the pork comes in a thick sauce with caramelized onions and bell peppers. Order the rotti as a side dish to have a carb to pair; also good at soaking up the last remnants of the sauce once all the good stuff is gone.
Next we got the Hopper Kotu with Chicken. String hoppers are these Sri Lankan pancake (like) delights and the chef chops them up and stir fries with carrots and spices. Chicken curry comes on the side to supply the meat. Hints of cinnamon infuse the dish but watch out...! it can be a tad spicey for the hong kong palet. Be sure to save some of the Deviled sauce to pair with this dish! This dish was delicious flavour wise but the constancy was too soft for me. I much preferred the regular kottu I got on my previous visit.
I'd recommend this meal to anyone out to try something new or any fan of Indian or Sri Lankan food. Just returned from a 2 week trip in Sri Lanka and this meal was better than almost every meal we had in Sri Lanka.
