We didn't make reservations so waited about 20 minutes, when we were asked to follow an old man to the walk up building next to the restaurant, and entered a flat where there were 2 tables of customers digging into their meal, and we were led to the back where we sat out in the balcony, decorated with plastic vines and a 6 meter tall MASSIVE fan. It was quite rustic and had a strangely cozy feel to it, very laid back for a summer's evening.

We ordered for the 4 of us:
- chicken cabbage salad - fresh hand-shredded chicken, but not enough cabbage or pomelo in my opinion.
- steamed rice rolls - decent, bits of chestnut and peanut kept it crunchy on the inside and slippery smooth on the outside
- beef brisket curry - my favourite, big chunky pieces of beef soaked in a thick yellow curry sauce, perfect with garlic bread to mop it all up
- vietnamese "lo yuk" rice - the rice came separate, which we used to finish off the curry instead of the lo yuk sauce which was pretty watery and not as intense in flavour. The "lo yuk" was very tender and the boiled egg had absorbed the flavour of the meat. But overall, not an interesting dish.
- 馬拉盞 with stirfried kailan - good sized portion, not too oily, kailan still very crunchy
- 3 coconut juice and a longan ice, all pretty big portions and the coconuts were fresh.

Service was ok, but no one refilled our tea, and they place the next table's sugar cane prawn on our table and brought it back to the kitchen when we alerted them of the mistake, only to come back out to the table next to us, all in disarray and probably with one piece missing. The waiter also tried to get us to order other more "seasonal" and interesting dishes, the only thing we swapped was the pomelo prawn salad for the cabbage salad, which in retrospect was probably not a wise decision. I would have gone for the tomato soup noodles instead of the lo yuk rice too.
