Booked an afternoon tea for Mother's Day 💐 with my family at one of my favorite hotels in HK I've visited the restaurant downstairs (Tai Pan) for dinner before when the hotel was newly opened (I do not recommend)Later also a staycation (very pleasant )But it was my first time up to the rooftop at Popinjays. Since it was Mother's day, they were quite full with high tea bookings and all guests had to wait for around 20 mins on a floor below before being taken up to the rooftop by their staff. It was all worth it when they placed us at the table I specifically requested We had the table with blue sofa by the flower arrangement 🌸
Similar to the contemporary style of Popinjay and its décor, their afternoon tea set was also hip & pretty. Each piece tasted fine and we particularly liked the yellow cube of mango coconut mousse cake.

However, when we were already half way though our sitting, I noticed the next table was served a tea set with "Happy Mother's Day" tag. I requested our server to add one for our set too (although kind of late by now....). More attention to details should have been given. It was exactly on Mother's day and I also mentioned about the occasion upon reservation.
The lucky draw of chocolate egg smash was a nice surprise! My mom was very happy (although we didn't win anything. I think no tables did haha)
