To make good crêpes, good flour is a must. Besides, a good iron hot plate for making crêpes is also crucial. By the time I was there, a wait staff kindly inform me that the dining hall would be a bit smoky due to cleansing of some of the iron plates. It’s a standard procedure to “clean” the surface with sand paper and coat the plate again with cooking oil, so as to prevent burning of crêpes or cooking with oxygenated layer of fat accumulated on the iron plate.

Between savory and sweet crêpes I picked Le Défi as a dessert after lunch. The crêpes was topped with caramel ice cream, caramelized bananas and butter caramel. With tiny bits of caramel candies, the caramel ice cream was a good match with banana. The fruit was ripe and creamy. Unlike the savory crêpes made with buckwheat flour, this white flour was soft and rich in egg flavour. If you can stand the triple caramel, you would love it.
b) Hot Chocolate (extra $20) – 8/10

I had enough coffee for the day and I would like something sweet to go with the crêpes I picked hot chocolate. The cocoa drink was topped with a smooth foam with a homemade feel.

Other Info. : Q : When will I go again? A : The place is almost ideal for all casual occasions, just that don’t go with a large group to avoid seating difficulty. Q: What will I next order? A : Savoury crêpes, I like buckwheat flour.
