After having our ghoulish Halloween afternoon tea, godbro XO and I decided to burn off some calories by walking from Sheung Wan to Wanchai. He had to replenish his coffee supplies, so we took a detour to IFC. Since we were at IFC, I told him that I wanted to check out Genie Juicery, which specializes in cold pressed juices!I have heard about cold pressed juices for a while since I live in a pretty upscale neighborhood in the US where we have a lot of hipster food and drinks. I have heard about cold pressed juices for a while since I live in a pretty upscale neighborhood in the US where we have a lot of hipster food and drinks. However, I didn't really learn about cold pressed juices until Christian Yang explained why they are so expensive on a "Go Green" TV show.
I wanted to try cold pressed juices after learning that the reason they are so expensive has to do with the machine, where the fruits are pressed in a lengthy process with no blades that would heat up the juice and destroy the nutrients! After picking up XO's coffee, we went around looking for Genie Juicery, which was tugged behind the elevators on the 2nd level between Starbucks and Lady M. There were various menus of juice cleanse packages, but since this was my first time trying cold pressed juices, I just wanted to get a bottle to check it out! I decided to treat godbro XO to a bottle of juice as well since his vegetable and fruit intake is, well, minimal! Standing in front of the refrigerator with the colorful bottles of juices, XO and I felt a little overwhelmed! The cashier was very helpful in explaining the different juices to us, and XO and I each picked a bottle of juice.

Organic Raw Coconut & Goji Macaroon: Since this macaroon had shredded coconut in it, it was a little harder to chew. The coconut flavor is pretty prominent. This is a must-try if you're a fan of coconut!
After trying the cold pressed juice at Genie Juicery, I've gotta say, it has definitely changed my mind on green juices! They can definitely be tasty, and healthy doesn't have to taste bad!
