Tong Kee Bao Dim needs no introduction. A massive chain of take away only shops selling dim sum and steamed bao. But recently they have partnered with My Melody to bring cuteness to their food! They have three items in total. Two baos and one set of colorful dumplings. Menu is in Chinese only but there are photos so you can point at them. They packaged everything into a My Melody box and a matching plastic bag.
The double color dumplings ($25) were pink and white with a cute little paper flat stuck in the middle. The dumplings were pretty good. The skin was not too thick. The white one had lots of water chestnut while the pink one had jews ear to give it a bit of crunch.
The My Melody bao ($18) was super cute! It was wrapped in a My Melody wax paper. As it was cold, it had instructions to steam it in water for 5 minutes. I didn't want to drag out pots so I just microwaved it with a few squirts of water and it came out just as fluffy as steaming. The look of the bao was very well made. It was filled with a sweet red bean paste.
The food tasted really good! And the look was quite nice as well. I was expecting it to be all sloppy for take away but it wasn't. Would definitely try to rebuy again before this ends.
