This restaurant has been bookmarked for awhile. We were craving for a chill out in the busy city and scrolling my wish to go list, here it comes, the Old Book Store.

Walking in with a vintage British book store theme, it gave a pretty mysterious fiction feeling. Restaurant background and design were in a darker shade while the floor- to- ceiling windows shed some natural lightings, the whole seating environment was cozy and homey.

Menu was also book themed with chapters of drinks variety and dishes. We ordered a basil roasted cauliflower with pork floss, sesame buffalo pizza and squid ink pasta with salted egg yolk prawn.

Basil roasted cauliflower was alright. Cauliflower was more like boiled cauliflower tossing with the Thai minced sauce instead of roasted. Cauliflower was slight hard but my companion loves its crunch. Cauliflower itself wasn't marinated or seasoned which relied on the sauce and toppings. Sauce was kind of a Thai mince stir fry flavour. Very savoury and meaty. Pork floss was generous which my companion loved so badly! Personally, found it slightly overly salty because of the pork floss, obviously my companion opposed me!

Sesame buffalo pizza looked attenpting. Bright tomato colour with melted cheese buffalo cheese. It was a thin sheet crust which normally not my type. Surprisingly the melted cheese stick the toppings just right that the thin crust held it nicely. Cherry tomatoes and tomatoes sauce were very juicy and sweet. It was delightful and light. Just that it was claimed as a sesame buffalo pizza but no sesame flavour could be smelled or tasted. Anyhow, not bad.

Squid ink pasta was cooked to al dante. Fully coated with the garicky egg yolk sauce. It remained slightly sandy texture from the egg yolk while the saltiness was balanced just right. Love the dice mushrooms for a chew and umami. Mushrooms were such a good absorption of flavour that every bite was juicy. The prawn was slight overcooked. A bit tough. Overall, not bad.

Iced organic appericano was light and aromatic. I would rather say it was on an orange side instead of apple. The fruity flavour paired so well with the nutty coffee flavour. It was a perfect balance. Sugar free tropical fruit tea was served in a fancy big tea pot set. Delicate and smoothing. Sweet but not sugary. Light and cozy.

Whole experience was worth it. Maybe we two ordered quite a lot of food or the dishes were in big plates, it was very packed when everything served on the small table. Love the perfect volume of music playing. Looks mysterious but the experience is straightforward. Not bad.
