The chefs have tweaked the sambal to perfection from its too-sweet beginnings last year. The ikan bilis, sourced from Malaysia, are fine and crispy, providing the perfect foil to the warm coconut milk-infused rice.

Picked up my takeaway order this afternoon and although the chicken was no longer crispy (from sitting in its own steam inside the box), it was moist and aromatic and came with fried bits of rempah (herbs and spices).

My meal was thoughtfully packaged in a cardboard box with 3 compartments, ensuring that the ikan bilis did not become soggy as it was separated from the rice.

I tell myself to try something else on the menu every time I visit but that has yet to happen. The nasi lemak is $98, and there is a 10% discount on takeaways.
