Last night myself and my foreign friend walked by Causeway Bay and found a new restuarant in Cannon Street (the shop location is the same one as the old vietnamese restaurant), and unexpectedly, it is a Japanese Robatayaki/Kushiyaki (i don't know what's the difference between them) restaurant because their entrance does not look like a typical Japanese restaurant. So, why not give a try......... restaurant was not too full, maybe because it's weekday and the restaurant is quite new (the manager
Once we sat down, a bowl of fresh vegetable was being served..... really very fresh vegetables.... and it taste much better when dipping the vegetable into the special sauce,
We ordered beef tongue, beef, chicken wings, stuffed chicken wings with goose liver, asparagus with bacon, chicken skin, Tofu and the Hamachi Kama.... the taste was really quite good (can compare the standard of ROKA in pacific place). I personally like the chicken skin and Tofu, it was grilled really really dry and crispy and my friend loves their Hamachi Kama, (The neck of the Hamachi fish), the skin of the Hamachi Kama was grilled dry and crispy but the meat inside was still very soft and moist. One thing important is that this Hamachi neck cost only HK$88, and I find it quite reasonable.
The bill ends up with $550 and we find it quite reasonable as I have tried to eat at ROKA in Pacific Place but their price are much higher, while ROKA's decoration and location is better than AKIRA, other than that, the quality of the food are about the same, even some items I personally think is better than ROKA.
