Probably the only bar in Hong Kong specialising in rum at the moment. Anytime I go to a speciality bar, I expect the staff to be provide an educational and informative experience - for instance, I've had such experiences at Whisky & Words (for whiskey) and at COA (for tequila and mezcal). However, I didn't have such an experience here despite ordering a rum flight (which should be quite telling in and of itself - I am here to try and learn more about rum). When they brought the rum flight over, the staff did explain the different styles of rum to us (French, Spanish, English), and suggested the order in which we should try them. However, my boyfriend and I just didn't quite get the vibe that the staff was passionate about educating their customers, or that they wanted to explain further.
We also ordered a rum cake, which my boyfriend affectionately describes as 'moisty'. Not just 'moist, but 'moisty'. Make of that what you will I have to say I do agree with him though, the rum cake was indeed 'moisty'.
Overall, it was a fun experience and the bar was a lot bigger than I expected. The decor was lovely - they've got some kind of tropical/boho chic thing going on. Service and drinks were good, perhaps I just expected a bit more from a speciality bar.
