As everyone knows, Fanling is an area that is quite isolated from Kowloon and the rest, even though it was quite well connected by MTR. One of my friends who stayed around that area told me that there is a restaurant there that was known for their romantic ambience, combined with quality food. To celebrate my wife's birthday, I decided to bring her there for dinner even though it was a long journey to there. Pezzi Bistro was located at Fanling, around 10 to 15 minutes walk from MTR. Besides offering their dinner set, they do have ala carte menu as well. It was decorated in dim light with classy decor.
After we have ordered, the waitress served us a basket of bread. Instead of the typical 1 piece of bread each, they have 3 different types for us to try. The bread was soft and fresh, and it goes well with the vinegar sauce and cream provided.
Legend blue - This drink was their new creation, not yet inside the menu. It was mixed with ginger ale, fresh orange juice and blue citrus syrup. It was sparkling sweet and refreshing, with strong orange taste.
Pezzi Salad - Even though it was salad, but the chef was very generous with the serving. There were alot of salmon sashimi with vegetables on top. Salmon sashimi was fresh and meaty, buttery texture. There were olives and orange bits as well to bring out the flavour.
Soup of the day - Soup of the day was sweet corn soup. It was creamy and sweet, served hot as well. It goes well with the biscuit stick provided. The chef spread a layer of oil on top to make it more tasty.
Pan seared slow cook US chicken - Given the portion of the meat, the price was slightly on the high side but the taste more than makes up for it. As it was slow cooked, the chicken was cooked till very soft and smooth. Honey mustard sauce was provided to enhance the taste of the chicken.
