After we saw a movie on a Friday night, we just want to find a casual, not too noisy joint for some bar snacks and drinks. We hopped over to Check-in Taipei around 10pm, but unfortunately their kitchen was closed. Looked up bars nearby and found Edition. Relatively new bar down at wet market, seems casual enough and has bar snacks. So here we go. It was very full when we arrived, so we sat outside, great for people watching anyway. It was very full when we arrived, so we sat outside, great for people watching anyway. We ordered a Hite beer($60), a pandan flavoured soju cocktail, spicy chicken galbi sliders ($7x), kimchi fries and peach shisha ($210).
Drinks and galbi sliders came pretty quickly. The pandan soju cocktail is quite weak with soju, but at least it was kept cold resting on top of ice pile so the drink was not watered down. The sliders were decent, the spicyness is mild and kind of like the Korean spicy rice cake sauce.
The kimchi fries was better than expected. It had quite alot of kimchi with cheese on top of crispy fries. This was good to go with our drinks.
The peach shisha ($210) was so so, the peach flavour was very artificial in a plasticky way. If you crave for shisha, there are better ones up on Elgin Street.
The staff here are friendly and attentive. They have asked us a few times if we would like to move inside when a table is freed up but we didn't feel a need to so we stayed outside. Appreciate their attentive service. Nice friendly bar and will come back again. A bit crowded so take note.
