Friday night, 7pm, descent weather - we decided to try out a new restaurant in Food Street for some outdoor time. We passed by several restaurants and finally decided get a table at Bistro Bloom. The outlook seems to be inspired by European bistros with round tables and wooden black chairs. Most of the tables are outdoor with only couple of tables in the tiny space indoor. When we arrived, the space was only half full so we did not have to wait to get a table.

After sitting, we were given the menu with a selection of approx. 10-12 dishes. Most of the dishes are below HK$100 with only a few exceptions. We decided to go for the Philly Cheese Steak (being one of their best sellers from what the waitress said) and the short rib bubble and squeak.

The food arrived at the table 15 minutes after the order was taken. The Philly Cheese Steak (HK$85) came with normal fries or taro fries. Not fond of taro in any sort, I chose the safe option which was french fries. The sandwich itself is composed with shredded beef, onions, cheese (a lot !
) and a little bit of mustard. It was very rich in taste and very filling !

The short rib bubble and squeak (HK$98) was served in a small pan-style plate. It's composed with 2 beef short ribs, 1 veggie/potatoe rosti (the bubble and squeak), an egg and some salad. Way lighter than the first dish but quite tasty as well.

We saw some burgers passing by and they looked quite good - We'll probably try one of these next time !

In terms of drinks, they have 3 draught beers (Hoe, Hoe Rosse and Stella), house wine and a selection of approx. 10 cocktails.

Overall, very good experience - Service, food and price were there! Very good place for catch up with friends or casual dates.
