I have been to this café once not long ago, and I was surprised by the environment there. The decorations and the vibes of this café is very instagrammable for people who love to visit special places and take pictures with. This café uses grey as the main color of its outer wall and the floor with black and white Argyle pattern. These matches give people a retro feeling, it feels like stepping into a restaurant in the 60s. Moreover, the green broke into my sight strongly after I crossed the arch which connects the outer part and the inner part of the café. There is a huge green storage wall that stores many bottles of alcohol behind the bar table. There are also many mirrors hanging on the wall to reflect the green element to the entire restaurant; the inner decoration of this café also gives people a retro feeling but closer to modern compared to the outer decoration. There are two different spots for the customers to choose where to dine in this café- the open area in the outer part which lets you smoke while drinking and chatting with friends. The inner part of the café provides some comfortable seats with air conditioning and a quiet environment for you to enjoy your meal. I chose to dine in the comfortable spots in the inner part this time because I needed air conditioning during the hot weather in Hong Kong.

In addition, food is the most important factor in evaluating a restaurant. Therefore, I am going to pull back the topic to food in the next couple paragraphs to tell you all how I felt about the foods of this café. I ordered a dinner set to share with my friend; We ordered a Squid Ink Risotto with cheese ($16 USD), Crab Cake with Mango Salsa ($15 USD) and two Mango, Passionfruit Mocktails ($6 USD/one). The texture of the Squid Ink Risotto with cheese was too harsh and stodgy for me. The taste of it was also too light in my perspective but it might be alright to other people since I like food that has a strong taste in general. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this dish to you. Moving on to the Crab Cake with Mango Salsa, I somehow liked it even though I hate eating any kind of seafood. The Crab Cake tasted fresh but not gamey, the texture was delicate, and it matched perfectly with the Mango Salsa on the side. I highly recommend this dish to you all. The Mango, Passionfruit Mocktail was nothing special, and the amount of this drink was totally not enough for me to finish a meal; I finished drinking it way before I finished the dishes, so I felt very thirsty during the meal. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend this as well.

Honestly the amount of the dishes were not enough for me and my friend for dinner, so we decided to order a Fries with Cheese ($7 USD) afterward. I was amazed after having one bite of the French fries! I believe that it was served to us right after it was out of the fryer; the outer layer of the fries was very crunchy, the inner was delicate, the taste of potato was very rich, the fries were all covered with cheese and a little bit of peppers on top of the cheese. The spicy taste of the peppers neutralized the greasy feeling of the French fries and the cheese. The pepper was the crucial point that brought this dish life.

Overall, I think that this is a stylish café and it is suitable for people to come to take pictures and post it on social media. However, the main dishes that I have tried were not qualified and the prices were quite expensive compared to other cafes in the same area. I personally don’t recommend this café for dinner but you can still come here to try their Fries with Cheese and have a couple drinks while chilling with friends on the weekends.
