Easter Friday brunch with the girlfriend, decided to go find a place with alfesco dining so we can take advantage of the cooler weather. Waited 40 minutes for the food to arrive despite the restaurant not being that busy when we sat down. The food finally came long after we had finished our coffee. Not a good start, but I was open minded and thought I'd give them a chance to win me over with their food.
Now let's talk about the food.
Smoke salmon egg benedict 1/5*
The food arrived cold, so it was probably just sitting there in the kitchen for awhile. The poached egg was well overcooked. I was looking forward to popping the yolk but unfortunately once I cut into the egg, the yolk was semi solid. The hollandaise sauce was served in three chunks, like room temperature butter. The smoked salmon and salad were decent though, but I guess you really can't screw that up since you don't have to cook them.
Foie gras burger 1/5*
Greasy bun. Overcooked foie gras. BONES AND CARTILAGES in the burger. I was fortunate enough to not bite down on the pieces of bones too hard, otherwise I would've needed dental work. Not only did the food tasted bad, it was a health hazard.
I would've sent the food back, but didn't want to wait another 40 minutes to get our meals. I reflected my comments to the waitress, and only got a half heartedly apology. She did nothing to amend the situation.
Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I'm a long time user of this website but this made me sign up for an account to leave this bad review. That's how bad our meal experience was.
