I am a big fan of Mercedes Benz so I am excited to see its themed restaurant opened in Central. Honestly, I expected it to be pricey and unfriendly before I stepped into this restaurant, well, exactly the cocky type of famed restaurant. Then, the experience with Planet Hollywood decade ago wasn't impressive at all. I just discounted Mercedes Me on a personal basis. In fact, the restaurant is much smaller than I expected and I assumed there will be more Mercedes signature items on display but not really. I reckoned that they will change the display model of the car on a irregular basis and they tried to refrain from making the restaurant feel too much like a pub. The decor is hip yet casual and the service on a Monday is very good too.

Not many tables inside the restaurant, mostly small tables to accomodate 2-4 people

The restaurant does have a decent range of wine selection but very much over-priced.  Since we didn't bring our own wine this time, we ordered the Keenan Merlot from Napa Valley as recommended by the sommelier. It surprised me that it's Merlot taste was quite well rounded and matched all the dishes we ordered.  Given the price they charged at $960/bot, we'd better pick some different (my preference always lies in Old World wine like Bordeaux & Burgundy).

Organic 100% grass fed steak Tartare
Wherever there's a beef tartare dish, I will give it a try...I am just addicted.
The steak tartare here was good portioned and the taste was more on the light side.  Guess it'd better eat it without mixing with any other ingredients in order to get the beef taste.

 Hamachi Tiradito
A refreshing dish with Hamachi mixed with mango dressing with a touch of lemon.  The chef kept a good the balance of the dressing not to supercede the fish taste.  The hamachi was indeed very fresh and tasty.

 Baked Angel Hair Pasta
Angel hair is best to be prepared in a simple tomato sauce due to its pasta nature.  Here we go with this interesting and unusual way to bake the angel hair with seaweed, roasted garli aioli and prawn jus.  We couldn't really taste the texture of angel hair and it reminded me of the Chinese chow-mein which is crispy but not greasy.  We love the prawn taste in the background that stands out yet not manipulating.  A very interesting dish!

 Australian Aged Wagyu Skirt
We were told to go for medium for this wagyu steak otherwise it will be chewy.  And they are right, the texture of this wagyu is not the ordinary type of Australian wagyu, we found it tasted more like the U.S. steak with a strong beef taste.  Not exceptionally good but it's good enough given the price they charged and the size of the steak.
