We did not expect that we need to queue for this restaurant as it had been open for quite a long time. We could get the seat after queuing outside the restaurant for around 15 minutes. Better make a booking earlier next time as there were only 6 tables inside. The table was clean with hand sanitizer and napkins available on every table. The Emperor’s White Garden Tea and which was aromatic with roses and jasmine blossoms. The Emperor’s White Garden Tea and which was aromatic with roses and jasmine blossoms. It was fresh and with light fragrance. The signature 1837 tea was richer with a light taste of ripe berries, anise and caramel. Both teas were really great.
There were a few tea sets to choose from with different combinations of refreshments. The pantries were small in size but with expensive ingredients. There were beef burger, crab tart, goose liver toast and sesame ball with strawberry sauce. They tasted great and fresh.
The cakes tasted even better than the pantries. The Vanilla cake rolls and Matcha red bean cake were exceptionally good! They were not too sweet. The Houjicha and Matcha taste was very outstanding and fused well with the cake. For the tea-infused macarons, we chose Earl Grey Fortune & Chocolate and Number 12 Tea & Tiramisu. They were average and could be crispier.
It was quite quiet and cosy. A nice place to chat and chill with friends!
