With the foodcourt in Citygate closed, we ventured across the road to find something for Sunday lunch.  What a nice surprise we got at Amante! The set lunch ranged from $98 - $108 and included soup or salad and then tea/coffee.  We knew we were onto a good thing when we saw the balsamic vinegar.  It was served on a plate with warm bread and it was thick and sweet, an indciator of a good quality riserva balsamic.  The soup of the day was pea soup and was the best pea soup I've had in quite a whil

We knew we were onto a good thing when we saw the balsamic vinegar.  It was served on a plate with warm bread and it was thick and sweet, an indciator of a good quality riserva balsamic.  The soup of the day was pea soup and was the best pea soup I've had in quite a while.   The mains were good - the steak was cooked to perfection (medium) and the pizza excellent.  None of that yuckky thick stuff you see from fast food places.

The only thing I found odd was the cappacino.  We ordered two and one was hot, but the other luke warm....don't know what happened there.   As it is an Italian restaurant, they might want to offer expresso as an option as well.
