We came here at the recommendation of a friend whose mum is a great cook, so we knew we were at somewhere special.

The restaurant is cosy and all but one of the customers were female, so we felt very at home, 7 ladies at lunch. The best thing about BlueDuck is that you don't have to make any choices. The set lunch is set and the only choice is you eat it or you don't. This means we have more time to chat with the least intrusions.

The first course was a potato and leek soup that was very light but had a gainy texture of potato, very nice for a cold day.

Next was a broccoli quiche topped with grilled cheese served warm which was again delicious, the base was made of freshly baked puff pastry which was very flaky.

Main course was duck breast on a bed of mashed potatoes with sauce. This must be a signature dish as the chef, Henry's nickname is Blue Duck and apparently Blue Duck is a type of duck in France. I liked it but didn't finish it as it was red in the middle and I am stupid about eating raw food. Still I know it was nice and the cooked bits were. Everyone else said it was wonderful

Dessert was a baked chocolate pudding with something that was like vanilla souffle on the bottom. I normally am not a fan of desserts but this was a small portion and I was in the mood, so finished it. Thought it was creative as it was neither a molten chocolate pudding nor a souffle but better than either.

Even the coffee was good, what more could we ask for. Oh, I know, a reasonable price and it definitely was at only $120 per head.

This is why I decided to write about it straight away and am not surprised the restaurant doesn't have any crying faces reviews. Would love to go back for dinner some day. Apparently, there is a slightly more extensive menu at dinner time.
